As Championship Week in fantasy football approaches, many fantasy managers are seeking to solidify their lineups with key waiver wire pickups. Players rostered in under 40% of leagues are highlighted, offering solid options for the final stretch of the season.
Audric Estime (RB – DEN, 8.4% rostered)
Estime, a 2024 5th-round pick, returned from injury and has been averaging 4.5 yards per carry on limited touches. In his most recent game, he rushed for 48 yards and scored his first career touchdown. With Jaleel McLaughlin possibly sidelined for the Broncos’ Week 17 game against the Bengals, Estime could be a solid flex play.
Calvin Austin (WR – PIT, 3.5% rostered)
Austin has stepped up in the absence of George Pickens, recording 65 yards in consecutive games. If Pickens remains out next week, Austin could be a viable start, but if Pickens returns, it’s best to look elsewhere.
Wan’Dale Robinson (WR – NYG, 37.4% rostered)
Robinson has received 32 targets in his last three games but has struggled to turn them into significant yardage. However, in PPR formats, he remains a solid flex option with Malik Nabers potentially out, Robinson’s value increases.
Nick Westbrook-Ikhine (WR – TEN, 31.7% rostered)
Westbrook-Ikhine’s season has been erratic, but he has been a touchdown machine with nine scores since Week 6. Facing a weak Jaguars defense in Week 17, he could be a high-risk, high-reward play.
Michael Penix Jr. (QB – ATL, 12.1% rostered)
Penix’s debut was promising, and with the Falcons fighting for a playoff spot, he’s a strong option in 2QB and Superflex formats. Ensure that the weather is clear and that Drake London is healthy before starting him.
Chig Okonkwo (TE – TEN, 6.4% rostered)
Okonkwo had a strong showing with 81 yards on nine catches, benefiting from Mason Rudolph’s quarterback change. He’s a solid option in a thin tight-end terrain, especially for Week 17 against Jacksonville.
Tyler Conklin (TE – NYJ, 16.5% rostered)
Conklin returned from injury with a solid performance and could see more opportunities as the Jets’ offense becomes more pass-oriented with Aaron Rodgers potentially playing in 2025.
Indianapolis Colts D/ST (27.5% rostered)
Facing the New York Giants next week, the Colt’s defense is a strong start in all formats, given the Giants’ offensive struggles.
These players provide great potential to help fantasy managers make a final push in their leagues, especially during the critical Championship Week.
