With only one week left in the fantasy football regular season, many managers are either comfortably in the playoffs, eliminated, or hanging by a thread with their playoff hopes. For those in the latter group, this week is crucial. A single waiver claim could be the difference between reaching the postseason or being left in the dust, battling for next season’s glory, or avoiding the dreaded last-place punishment. Week 14 is particularly tricky, with several strong defenses on bye, including the Denver Broncos, Washington Commanders, Baltimore Ravens, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, and New England Patriots. As a result, fantasy managers may face some tough lineup decisions.

Here are eight players worth considering for waiver adds in Week 14:

  1. RB Jeremy McNichols, Commanders (Rostered in 17% of leagues) – While Chris Rodriguez has garnered attention for his strong performance, McNichols remains the primary backup behind Brian Robinson when the game is still competitive. Although the Commanders are on bye, McNichols could be an important asset in the fantasy playoffs, especially with a favorable matchup against the Saints’ porous run defense.
  2. WR Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Titans (Rostered in 17% of leagues) – Despite not seeing a high volume of targets, Westbrook-Ikhine has been incredibly consistent, scoring a touchdown in eight consecutive games. His ability to find the end zone makes him a valuable option in fantasy, particularly for managers looking for a safe play with a high ceiling.
  3. WR Parker Washington, Jaguars (Rostered in <1% of leagues) – Washington has emerged as a reliable receiver for the Jaguars, leading the team in targets, receptions, and yards in a recent game against the Texans. With the Jaguars facing the Titans in Week 14, he could continue his strong play against a defense struggling to contain wide receivers.
  4. QB Drake Maye, Patriots (Rostered in 16% of leagues) – Maye has been steady throughout the season, with a high floor and the ability to score over 17 points in half of his starts. Though the Patriots are on bye, Maye is a solid option for the following weeks, especially with a matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.

  5. TE Dawson Knox, Bills (Rostered in 8% of leagues) – With Dalton Kincaid potentially sidelined, Knox could see increased usage. He has shown flashes of fantasy relevance and, with a matchup against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 14, he could provide solid value for managers in need of a tight end.
  6. TE Zach Ertz, Commanders (Rostered in 49% of leagues) – Ertz has been a consistent fantasy contributor and has scored a touchdown in three consecutive games. He could be a strong add for teams with a weak tight end position, even though the Commanders are on bye in Week 14.
  7. WR Devaughn Vele, Broncos (Rostered in 26% of leagues) – Vele has emerged as the No. 2 receiver in Denver, with consistent performances in recent weeks. Though the Broncos are on bye, Vele has favorable matchups ahead, including games against the Colts and Bengals.
  8. WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Saints (Rostered in 31% of leagues) – With the Saints’ wide receiver corps banged up, Valdes-Scantling has become a key deep threat. He may not get a high volume of targets, but his big-play potential makes him a dangerous option, especially after his recent explosive performances.

These players could be the difference-makers you need to secure your playoff spot and continue your championship run.
